UC Santa Cruz Brand Video

UCSC called upon us to help revitalize its brand, to give it a way to talk about the school, turn it from a second choice school to first choice. We rebranded this uncommon place, wrote its manifesto, and filmed a video to help express it. Soon the communications elements of the brand began to be seeded through every communications, from the new Chancellor’s acceptance speech to every alumni newsletter to every tour.

When we began, UC Santa Cruz was receiving as many applications—roughly 7,000—as it had openings. Four years after launch, as of 2012 (for the 2013 enrollment), UC Santa Cruz received more than 40,000 enrollment applications, more than any UC campus except Berkeley.
